Ecco il testo (con traduzione) a mio parere più bello di tutta l’opera “Cimbelino” di Shakespeare:

Fear no more the heat o’ the sun;
Non temere più il calore del sole;
Nor the furious winter’s rages,
nè le ire rabbiose dell’inverno,
Thou thy worldly task hast done,
tu che hai compiuto il tuo compito mondano,
Home art gone, and ta’en thy wages;
tu che sei rientrato a casa, ed hai avuto la tua paga;
Golden lads and girls all must,
ragazzi e ragazze dorati, tutti devono,
As chimney sweepers come to dust.
come spazzacamini, tornare alla polvere.
Fear no more the frown of the great,
Non temere più il cipiglio dei grandi,
Thou art past the tyrant’s stroke:
   le frustate del tiranno sono finite per te:
Care no more to clothe and eat;
  non preoccuparti più di vestire e mangiare;
To thee the reed is as the oak:
per te bambù e quercia sono la stessa cosa:
The sceptre, learning, physic, must
lo scettro, le memorie, la medicina, devono
All follow this, and come to dust.
  tutte seguire questo, ed alla polvere tornare.

Fear no more the lightning-flash,
Non temere più il bagliore accecante,
Nor the all-dread thunder-stone;
nè il tuono rombante;
Fear not slander, censure rash;
non temere la calunnia, nè la censura;
Thou hast finished joy and moan;
hai finito gioia e pianto;
All lovers young, all lovers must
Tutti i giovani innamorati, tutti coloro che si amano,
Consign to thee, and come to dust.
dovranno consegnarsi a te, ed alla polvere tornare.

No exorciser harm thee!
Nessun esorcista può scuoterti!
Nor no witchcraft charm thee!
né alcun incantesimo può incantarti!
Ghost unlaid forbear thee!
  I fantasmi irrequieti dei morti scappano da te!
Nothing ill come near thee!
Nessun male ti si può avvicinare!
Quiet consummation have;
  il silenzio del compimento è giunto;
And renowned be thy grave!
ed è rinominato dalla tua tomba!
