“Romeo and Juliet” is a tragedy of William Shakespeare and was composed in 1595.
This play can be divide in 5 acts.
The first act is set in a Verona street and speaks about the courtly love between two lovers, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, belonging to two rivals families. The two families are steadily in feud.
This act concentrates on the development of the relationship between Romeo and Juliet. The second act ends with the secret wedding of the two lovers celebrated in the chapel by Friar Laurence.
Can be divide in two parts: in one there are public events like the fight between Romeo and Tybalt and the killing of Tybalt, in another one there is the love scene between Romeo and Juliet.
This act consist in the deviation of information that Juliet and Friar Laurence send to Romeo.
The last act speaks about Romeo, that finds Juliet’s body sleeping after she drunk the potion, and he believes her to be dead. He decides to kill himself, then Juliet wakes up from her sleep. And so Juliet kill herself. The death of the two lovers ends the feud between the rival families.
